Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Research Description

Our current research topics include central neuron mechanosensation and electrical signaling in health and disease. They are relevant to mild traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis and alcohol use disorder. We use molecular biology techniques, state-of-the-art imaging including two-color time lapse, FRET, confocal, transmission electron microscopy and cryo-electron tomography, patch-clamp recording, neuroanatomy, primary neuron culture and myelin coculture, conditional knockout mice, preclinical mouse models, behavioral testing, etc.
